In the five years since China’s complete refusal to cooperate at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, it appears the economic giant has reversed its policies on international climate change. The APEC Summit, which brought President Obama to Beijing, saw the US announce its commitment to reduce carbon dioxide emissions at double the rate previously managed. Similarly, Xi Jinping fully committed China to a reform process that will result in a curb on fossil fuel usage and carbon emissions, the first of its kind agreed on the international stage.
